Do you remember the feeling as a child of waking up to a rainstorm? All the hope and expectation tied up in a day’s adventure disappointed by the storm. Have you ever been eager to see a friend, hopeful, expectant? And upon meeting they did not seem quite there. Or have you ever felt disconnected from your own Soul, wondering where You went? Just remember the Sun is still there. Your friend may be weathering a private Storm. And You are not forsaken. If you find the rain enjoy it. There is a quiet power there that has nothing to do with noise. Settle in. Rest and listen.
Rain Rain Go Away
Oh, hey it’s You
I was looking for the One I saw before
She was peering out from those very eyes
Where did She go
That is why I came here you know
I thought I might see Her again
Where did She go
Do you know the Way
How far am I to travel to reach Her
She is hidden behind the Masks, giving nothing away
But She is there, somewhere behind those eyes
Still and watching, alone, longing
Longing to Love, to Play, to Live, to be Known
She is shy and tender-hearted
I understand Her reluctance
It is endearing and mediates the Power of Her
So, if you see Her peering at you in the Mirror
Tell Her that I asked where She had gone
And that I will come again another day
To see if She will come out and play
So until She does I will look to the moon
For the moon sees over the Mountains and into the Deep
It watches o’er Us both
The clouds and the rain hides the sun
But I know it’s there still
I feel It’s heat and sense It’s light
Like Her
Hidden there behind those eyes
Rain, rain, go away . . .
Come again another day . . .
Till you do the children can’t play
This is so beautiful and soothing. Love the jazz and the rain. Can hear it on a record. You know Rod McKuen used to record his stuff like that. 🙂
Maybe when I grow up. 🙂
You’ll never grow up. I told Fim months ago you’re actually Peter Pan…
