Got to use your floating example in SS this morning. BIG hit!
Be careful they will want you to put in a robe and be their guru. 🙂
The interesting thing was, the lady who was leading the class just nearly fell over. Her devotion for that morning had talked about floating, though your definition and explanation of it made it much clearer to her. She just kind of stood there with her mouth open. Arn elbowed me and said I owed you one! LOL
The difference was that you Know it. She just knew the words About it.
Yes, I’m guessing you’re right. And btw, I meditated for a short time this morning and found it surprisingly easy to slip back into that “womb” place. I was quite floored.
Easy is the trick. Some times we will trick ourselves in “working” hard to relax. 🙂
I’m thinking it really was the floating thing that made the difference because I’ve always been amazed that I’m too anxious to swim after nearly drowning three times, but I CAN get through the flailing around to float. It doesn’t compute in my mind.
Its the non-doing (including thinking) that allows it to happen on its own. Trying to relax makes it imoossible. 🙂
🙂
“If we all just relax, it fixes itself.” Yes!!!
Hello brother. I am glad you were here. Thank you for stopping by.
I have to say this video is the epitome of the method you have found to be so important and valuable. Watching you work with the young man who did the second poem was totally cool. To be able to see it in action. What he said about being “consumed and haunted by” his love for the Beloved (?) really resonated with me. This is the best, most profitable video yet. And I loved the part about finding your way back to that spontaneity. Everything in me know that’s right.
It has become very important to me to hear your response to my efforts. I truely appreciate and respect the time you invest in listening and responding. I look forward to it every time. It helps me see better what I am doing and what is being communicated. Thank you very much. It is very cool to be a part of that when it happens. It has little to do with me being clever. In my imagination I think it must be like a good jazz guy playing when simething special takes place. It is not as much about being talented but allowing something bigger than talent to happen. It is what I have ment when I have spoken of the “groove.” Other words could work. Its just the one I use
Yes, just like a good jazz musician. I’m enjoying “auditing” your class. 🙂
I can’t play. All I can do is listen and talk and feel 🙂
There are an awful lot of talented “poets” who recorded their material without playing a note. Rod McKuen is one of them. I could listen to him for hours. It wasn’t about any music. It was about the words that came out of his heart — that became the symbols for what he believed inside as I think you’d explain it. You have that ability in spades, goofus.
Its fun.
But isn’t it also fulfilling, like you KNOW that’s what you are here for?
Not in the way you think. I used to seek my purpose as though it was out there waiting for me to find it then my real life could begin. Now i think more like its my color or groove that has always been. There is a sense in which if I am looking for a purpose instead of just being then I am not living. I have been always but have been asleep. My purpose is to Teal not for teal to do or become something
Yes, I get that. It makes perfect sense to me. I never understood purpose that way till I saw it from your pov.
I have only recently begun to understand it that way.
I know, and it’s been amazing to watch. I think you were very nearly at the beginning when you turned up on my blog.
It was the death throes of my freaful ego
I felt honored to be there to watch the birth of a “soul.”
You were there helping and encouraging. You still are.
