What if the world is flat? What if the crazies are right and powerful rich people actually meet together and make plans to get more rich and powerful? What if they want to control and be the arbiter of food, seeds, water, and energy? What if they already do for the most part? But it’s ok it’s for our own good. It’s for the children. 🙂

Gotta keep up the fight any way we can. Don’t let the bad dudes win.
I think just making people aware of what’s going on will help.
Indeed. It will create a groundswell of outrage – people power can move mountains.
I’ve been following this business for years. I live in the heartland. My local farmers are being sued left and right for Monsanto seeds that haven’t been planted by them. It’s truly horrendous, malicious, just a nightmare.
Seed swap is a big movement. Saving seeds for everything is crucial. We’ve already lost so many varieties of so many plants. All we need is one blight…Whoosh…
To me what is happening is evil. I just hate its taken me so long to begin to wake up. Thank you for being here. Let’s plant.
I’m on it! If you ever wanna swap seeds, hit me on my Contact Me tab 🙂
I’m kinda new to all of this. I do plant a garden every year at the winery just cause. I have empty beds ready for plants. Gonna fill them saturday. Any ideas?
I probably can’t advise you much unless you live in my zone, and I don’t think you do. Plant what you eat the most 🙂
Do you save your seed from year to year, dude? You know, now that you’re getting the camera I wonder if this type of video is in your future. Lord knows you’re passionate enough about it. 🙂
Hey sugar. No but my grandmother did. And the only cost to all that food was the work of putting it in the ground and tending it.
Not surprising that the corporations have learned how to make all the money without having to do any of the work. And you know that Monsanto wanted to send seed to Haiti and Haiti and other nations around the world said they’d burn it?(http://www.huffingtonpost.com/beverly-bell/haitian-farmers-commit-to_b_578807.html)
Its about control and making them dependant.
Monsanto produce seed that can’t produce fertile seed. You have to buy your next seed from them the following year. All the world’s a business. We’re all being suckered.
How did we get to the point that we have to pay to exist?
Actually, the nice people of Monsanto kindly ask you to sign a contract about the use of their patented products. It’s like artist license. And yes they will go after a farmer who dares to buy another brand the following year. Some of their crop the next year might carry Monsanto’s genetic patent.
And the seeds don’t germinate if you save any. Its a scary prospect and they our others could ultimately control who eats or not. There’s no telling what is going in with all the genetic manipulation. Some say it could also be handy if population control was desired. Just put a little bomb in the food supply
Actually they can seed. They may not be true variety. The soybeans and corn cause problems long term with other nearby crops.
Some don’t. Genetically modifing a seed allows for patents and some presumed ownership of what the creator gave freely
I wonder if the GMO salmon will allow your a corporate take over of a waterway when one of the Franken-fish get free
🙂 they’ve pretty much already taken over sugar. We are pretty much in the pens the gates are just not closed yet. Freedom now is relegated to choice as consumers which feeds the corporations which feed the international banking interests.
But if you knew what they feed you would be healthy enough to get away
I’m working on it darlin. 🙂 was researching an aquaphonics system today. But I need to get out of the city. People in my neighborhood would starve or riot if Publix’s was closed and city water was shut off. An extremely dependant set of people in their shiney cars and expensive homes. Feels like a cage to me. Its technically illeagle to grow vegetables in my “own” yard
I prefer independence as well. My could do more for me. We produce half of our veggies from the garden.
When a farmer gets tied to M’s seed they end up functionally owned by them
I have relatives that have been hard sold by Monsanto and associates. They have squeezed out a lot of other suppliers
It will be a frightening time when growing a non “approved” seed is an act of rebellion.
Wait till Cuba’s organic food is available to be imported. That will be a battle because a real food choice is something that could threaten our democracy.
I’ve not heard about that.
The embargo and the collapse of the Soviet Union meant no fertilizers and little pesticides. They went organic out of no choice. If we allow the food in, then there’s a real choice. The organic prices tumble, and that might hurt people here trying to do the right thing.
The politics is tricky. Guess it depends on the long term adgenda. I trust the decision will not factor in what is best for people. I could see them promoting the imports with smiles on their faces in order to hurt the organic movement here.
I’m cynical. I see monstanto jumping in and saying foreign diseases would decimate our crops. Then they have a new market!
I could see either way or them playing both sides at once.
