  1. Loving being here in club again. I will hope this is a weekly event! In this moment, it doesn’t really matter if the world is flat. You’d still be here, grooving to your words, as we watch, feeling perhaps the way it was back in a day before our time.

  2. I would love to get hold of a record of this. Have you not released it? It is far superior to the garbage around. Cheers Opher.

        • One of these days I might. It is still very new at least to me. The musicians are pros. That’s what makes it possible. We have only started doing this a few weeks ago and have our second show coming up on the 19th. I thought that at some point if anybody was interested we would get some good audio of 10-15 different ones and figure a way for folks to download them if they want. I will have to talk to some of the young ones about how to do it. 🙂 The email is on the way brother.

  3. WOW!!! This is great. One of the best things I’ve heard for a long time. It’s like a cross between Gil-Scott Heron and Mose Allison!! I love it. Everyone should listen to this! It’s the antidote to mass produced pap of Simon Cowell!! This is mind expanding! This is cerebral and beautiful. What a groove! Be groovy baby!! Please – continue to be groovy! I was in fear that the groovy stuff of mind and spirit was drying up in music!
Thank you!! Thank you!!! All the best Opher

    • You sir have given me a gift. I thought that I was working and writing for a few true good friends. Your response gives me hope that there is some reason for my madness.:) Thank you. Simon is one of the sorcerers. All of this is recent and I don’t quiet know what to do with it. It is just something we have made up. The musicians are superb and it is all pretty much improv. We have a live show at a local jazz venue next week. As a matter of fact it is a barbeque/jazz place partially owns by Taylor Hicks of American Idol. Trippy huh? It feels true to me and I will continue to explore. My thought is that music and media in general are the main control arms of the system for the general population. There does not seem to be a counterpoint that does not lead to one of the stereotyped responses. I really don’t know what I am doing except following where I think I need to go. Thank you sir! Thank you. I think it may be dangerous ground I am treading upon. But what the hell . . . let’s go. Perhaps we can find others along the way.

  4. We watch him cross the floor in the semi-darkness, his swagger, accentuating his lithe frame, moves in tune with the bluesy rhythm slinking like a hot fog down the stage steps. With his fedora tilted at a jaunty angle, he smiles like he knows something we don’t. He scales the steps as if conquering Mt. Everest and perches his lanky silhouette on the bar stool at the mic in the little halo of spotlight that makes him look half angel, half devil. One pointed finger pushes the brim of his hat out of his eyes; with his sassy, southern drawl he weaves his words of wonder in between the notes of the trumpet and the bass where they bounce off the drums toward us, our ears trained forward to catch them as they glide past, silky, and somewhat sarcastic. And we are helpless. All we can do is push aside our beers and stare, lost in the narrative and the music, and his eyes.

  5. Not much for listening to music nowadays but I appreciate your efforts. Enjoyed your garden reports and had already figured out that we are neighbors of a sort since I live about 40 minutes East of the time zone straight up I20 near Six Flags. You do good work with the ‘pen’ and I suspect you do well in your profession. Glad to get to know you,
    Jerry

    • Hello brother. I am glad to get to know you. The music is a wild hair that just keeps on growing. 🙂 It is fun. I have read your work and respect your insight so your complaint is well received and appreciated. I will wave next time I am by there. I have a little winery south of birmingham. I am usually there on saturdays. If you are ever this way let me know. We can break bread.

      • sounds good to me. since I am retired I can slip out and go places from time to time. I do know the area a little. I usually have a pot of coffee ready most of the day and am less than 2 minutes off I20 exit 137
Let me know when you are planning to be this way and I’ll share some fresh coffee with you that was hand-carried here from Colombia by my lovely wife, Amparo.
